Can I have a meeting in Ovida without recording it?
Last updated: May 25, 2026
Ovida is built around analysing meeting recordings, so meetings are recorded by default. You do have control over the recording at every stage.
What you can do
Pause and resume recording during a meeting. Want to skip a sensitive or off-topic section? Pause the recording, then resume when you're ready.
Discard the recording at the end. When the meeting ends, either you or your guest can choose to discard the recording. If discarded, the meeting is permanently deleted and never reaches Ovida's servers for processing or analysis.
Delete recordings later. Every participant can delete their own recording, transcript, or video data at any time after the meeting.
Why record by default
Recording starts automatically when both participants join. We set it up this way because people often forget to press record manually, and we don't want you to lose insights you intended to capture.
For more on the discard and deletion options, see "How do I discard a meeting recording as a guest?" (for guests) and "Can I delete my data?" (for accounts).
