I received an email saying my conversation is being recorded — what does this mean?

Last updated: May 22, 2026

If you received an email from Ovida telling you that a conversation you're in is being recorded, this is what you need to know.

What's happening

Someone you're meeting with; a coach, manager, or colleague, has started recording your conversation using Ovida. They confirmed that you consented to being recorded before the recording started. The audio is being analysed by Ovida's AI to give them feedback on their own communication and coaching skills.

What you can do

You have full control over the recording. From the email you received, click Sign in to Ovida using the same email address. From there, you can:

  • Review the transcript and AI analysis

  • Manage who has access to the recording

  • Delete the recording and transcript permanently, at any time

If you didn't agree to this recording

If you didn't give consent — or you've changed your mind — you have two options:

  1. Tell the host directly. They can end the recording immediately.

  2. Sign in and delete it yourself. Use the link in the email and delete the recording from your account. The recording and its transcript are removed permanently.

You can also contact Ovida support at support@ovida.io if you need help.

A few things to know

  • You have the same rights as the host. Either of you can access, manage, or delete the recording.

  • Deletion is permanent. Once you delete the recording, it can't be recovered.

  • Ovida is a communication coaching platform. The AI analysis is designed to help the host improve their coaching or management skills. It isn't shared outside the host's organisation.
