Ovida Product Update: Week of June 1, 2026
Last updated: June 5, 2026
New & improved
A redesigned Settings experience. Your personal and account settings now live in one place. A new Settings button at the bottom of the left sidebar opens a consolidated area with My Account and an Account & Security section, replacing the old profile/settings menu in the top-right corner. (Where do I find my account settings?)
Easier skill-to-team assignment for admins. The Skill Library now lets admins switch between a By Team and By Skill view and click a count badge to open a searchable, sortable modal for assigning skills to teams (and teams to skills), with bulk select/deselect. Ovida admins can also assign skills across teams. (How do I assign skills to teams?)
Offline & back-online banners. The app now watches your connection and shows a clear "You're offline" banner if you lose connectivity, plus a green "You're back online" confirmation when it returns. During sensitive activities like Live Recording or a live meeting, the banner stays visible until you reconnect so you never lose work unknowingly. (What do the offline and back-online banners mean?)
Auto-expanding scenario text box. When writing a custom roleplay scenario, the text field now grows as you type instead of staying locked to a few lines, making long scenarios much easier to read and edit (a scrollbar appears for very long entries).
Live Recording
Protection against losing an in-progress recording. Trying to start a new Live Recording while one is already active now shows a clear message instead of silently ending the first session, preventing accidental data loss. (Why can't I start a new live recording while one is in progress?)
Live Recording restored for Mentor-plan users. The Live Recording option was missing from the New Meeting menu for some Mentor-plan accounts; it's now correctly available.
Meetings & joining
Smoother guest meeting joins. We fixed two issues where guests with a valid invite link could be wrongly told the session had ended/expired, or were unexpectedly prompted to log in (sometimes repeatedly) even when guest access was allowed.
Onboarding
Reliable personal workspace for new sign-ups. New accounts now consistently get their Personal Team on registration, so first-time users can immediately use features like Live Recording and AI roleplays.
Fixes & polish
We also shipped a set of smaller interface and localization fixes:
Metrics sidebar sub-menu now stays open when you select an item
Menus dismiss correctly after a selection
Navigation no longer double-highlights on the Skill Assignment page
Skill cards refresh immediately after completing an action
Join Meeting page no longer shows a raw text placeholder
User-mention notifications route to the correct page
Several Japanese/Vietnamese translation gaps and duplicate-toast/observer-modal issues were resolved.
Retired the old Teams dashboard page as part of the move to the new dashboards
Set up a redirect so old help.ovida.io links now go to support.ovida.io.
